I previously had the following in /etc/modprobe.d/iwlagn.conf
options iwlagn 11n_disable=1
This made everything work for my Lenovo x200s. Then I upgraded and
iwlagn was renamed
ie., during the upgrade from 11.10 to 12.04 perhaps
/etc/modprobe.d/iwlagn.conf should be renamed to
/etc/modprobe.d/iwlwifi.conf with s/iwlagn/iwlwifi/g in the file. And,
perhaps we should consider adding `11n_disable=1` to the file in the
event no file is created: this problem is fix in kernel

Once in this state, the system doesn't recover by itself. When I kill
kvm, things seem to go back to normal but if I start it up again the CPU
usage of the same couple of processes goes up again, almost

Last active GShutdown developer told me gshutdown is no longer developed nor
maintained, see text bellow.
So, I've chosen to improve Gpoweroff, which is an alternative to GShutdown
written in Python/Gtk, see

I am a little bit clueless. The corresponding code seems to be fine:

Seems to be triggered through gnome3 uses heavy compositing features - but it
seems not to be the cause at all.
After investigating, it seems MSI is the fault and its a Xorg bug.
