Hi,
Thanks for the reply, I looked for the directory where you ask me to, but
did not find any log /var/lib/dkms.
My fear is that since the day I upgraded from 10.04 to 12.04 using upgrade
manager, every day there is some
failure sometimes terminal, firefox or any other application. I doubt if
changing the tag from rls-q-incoming to rls-q-notfixing, it's not likely
to land for release at this point, it's still possible as a SRU though
if the UIFe concerns are addressed and the SRU team is ok with it

SRU Justification (for both Quantal and Precise):
[Impact]
Several H264 video files are playing back without video output in 12.04 and
12.10. Applications such as totem, totem-mozilla, banshee, minitube,
gnome-sushi and transmageddon are affected.
The URL is taken from the .disk/release_notes_url from the ISO image.
Then language is substituted into it.
Currently (and have been for the whole cycle) the URLs redirect to ubuntu.com
homepage for 12.10 version.
Changing the version to 12.04 redirects to the correct release notes.
You can test
Also I found that simply installing actually does not yet work because
the pvgrub won't pick it up. Though it is simple a matter of editing
/boot/grub/menu.lst and replacing the 3.2.0-x-generic (for example) of
vmlinuz and initrd (in the first boot entry) by the new version number.
--
You
Doug, thanks for the answer. Any reason you're not putting it up in a
PPA until this has gone into an SRU? I can setup a PPA for this issue if
you don't want to, or don't know how to.
