The growisofs bug is indeed well known. It was announced several
years ago to become fixed in the next release. Regrettably that
release never happened. Currently growisofs seems unmaintained.
Much of its knowledge was pulled into libburn, though, which
I'm hesitant on doing this, as I did try it for 12.04 and it only caused
more issues.
Having the Nvidia disabled has worked fine for 11.10, 12.04 and 12.10
Although if you're sure it's the issue, I will try and find another hard
drive to test it on?

Similar problems have seemingly been there with other packages in the
past, but it's not immediately certain what
Thanks for the report. It's a known issue for people upgrading from the
PPA to the archive version that should go away by retrying the upgrade,
or if all else fails with sudo apt-get install -f.
The file was moved during the archive review of packages.

Thanks Pawel. Unfortunately 8.04 has been out of support for some time
now. You may consider upgrading to 10.04, it is not so different from
8.04 and it has a lot of upgrades, but it will also go out of support by
April 2013. If you want to stick with 8.04 then I'm afraid you'll have
to live with
Yeah I was able to reproduce this. If you rename a playlist and enter it
will rename. But if you click on other place that will not rename.
