Thank you for reporting this bug. I can confirm this on 13.04 with unity
trunk.
The likely cause is it expects a drop on the Launcher, and when you
leave the launcher Nux no longer tracks events. So a possible fix would
be to reset drag and drop when the launcher get a mouse leave event from
nux.

After Thunderbird working well for months, suddenly email addresses

- Launch nautilus, unmaximise it and then maximise it again
- Launch Firefox from the dock (it must launch maximised, so if it's not,
maximise it then close and launch again)
- Click on the very far right of the Firefox window, there is a small gap so
