Just setting up Ubuntu 12.04.1. Needed to install Samba for my little
in house network. The system reported the error during installation.
The system decided that this was a bug that needed reporting, I didn't
make that decision.

Today, I tried to undock my laptop to enjoy the nice weather outside. I
was surprised to find that the moment I did so, the display on the LVDS
output was corrupted.
The moment I reconnected the HDMI display, the output on LVDS was normal
again.
Disconnecting the HDMI
Undocked again just now to try to take a picture, and the problem did
not recur; so it's an intermittent problem.

Still present. It's possible to open an .epub or .mobi with fbreader but you
have to:
* right click on the file
* select Open with Other applications...
* Click on the button to show all applications
* double click on Ebook reader

as i wrote above if the internal screen is recognized as laptop no problem when
you are on a laptop but when you are using a desktop computer it become a
mistake:
- simple solution may be the define the internal screen monitor 1 or A instead
of laptop

Judging from the thread, it's marked as won't fix because it is not a
single bug we're all complaining about, but a complex interaction of
several bugs. Many people are complaining about completely different
symptoms, all with a freeze, but even the character of the freeze is
different from case
I can confirm that this patch solves the described issue in 12.10 with
offlineimap 6.5.4-2
