I've looked at the logs. What jumps out at me is the errors from the audio
module and fglrx claiming that it could not enable MSI (message signaled

I got the same Problem, CCSM doesnt remember the 60hz and i also have to turn
off Sync to VBlank in Nvidia-Settings to get no stutter when running glxgears
and compiz at the same time.
I also run ccsm and set it every reboot cause the setting also reverts to 50hz.

I tried it my self. Clean Raring Xubuntu with Gnome PPA and Nautilus
3.7.91. And it choked when I tried a big transfer. So updating to Raring
is not a workaround in and of itself, nor is updating Nautilus.

I could be misunderstanding the problem here, I think we've had trouble
with the 32/63 thing in other respects too, such as getting corrupted
disk images when someone uses something other than parted (or uses
parted but doesn't change the sector size) to resize the partitions.

aptd crashed with KeyError in put():
I need to mount a binary file that contains a filesystem so I can copy
files onto it.
I could already do this using /dev/loop but I need to automate this
without requiring root privileges for a build system.
