hm... can some one confirm this test:
sudo stop acpid
sudo pkill upowerd
now try to plug or unplug AC adapter. Is this crash still reproducible by you.
Please notice. If you will click on battery status icon upowerd will restart
automatically. So, do not touch it.

Hmm, or maybe it's not entirely it. I tried downloading current kernel
source (apt-get source linux-image-`uname -r`), patching the desired
mode in:

I tested the kernel version you mentioned.
3.11.0-031100rc7-generic does not have this problem, it appeared after
upgrading from 3.10.0-6-generic.

Is it supposed to work automatically when a new kernel is apt-get installed or
should we do some manual magic in /boot/efi or whatever else???
I'm asking because I only able to boot one kernel. All the other kernels are
stuck at Loading initial ramdisk.
