The nvidia-persistenced tool should be packaged and included in Ubuntu.
One package will be used by all the nvidia flavours.

After waking the computer from sleep (initiated by closing the lid), I
can't move the mouse using the touchpad. The touchpad will still click
and scroll, the mouse cursor is visible but it doesn't move. The
TrackPoint mouse still works, and plugging in an external mouse works.
The Debian bug #559109 is quite old (from 2010). The current Ubuntu
package (at least in 12.04 LTS) does *not* have this solution applied.
It still uses the wrong logging level, producing the error output.

Neither me nor mzanetti can reproduce the crash, can anyone of the 3
people that say they have this bug give more exact reproduction steps?
Or maybe pass onto us the .mp3 file they are using to repro the crash?
