Hi, I can confirm this bug on Ubuntu 13.10 with German (eliminate dead
keys) keyboard setting. In order to procude the '@' character with a
German keyboard, you have to press and hold 'AltGr', then press 'q', the
latter being in the same location as on a US keyboard.

I am using the command su quite often without any problems. The
following su is just a senseless example, but it will demonstrate the
