- there are users that NEVER used boot-repair (or grub-repair as you call it)
and experienced the issue anyway
- there are situations where you CANNOT avoid using it as it's the only way to

Using the fix provided by #34 and running a sudo update-grub did _not_ solve
the problem for me (14.04 with LVM, BIOS/MBR system).
The only way to get it work so far is by specifying quickboot=0 in
/etc/grub.d/10_linux then running update-grub.
Anything I can paste here to assist with that?

I have Ubuntu 14.04 w/ Libreoffice 4.2.4.2 and an HP Office Jet Pro
8600. My File -- Printer Settings -- Properties indicate (and save)
the Duplex option, however, upon printing the duplex option is not being
respected. I have to print first to PDF, then with the PDF viewer print
in duplex :-(
Removing the verification-needed tag as there is no upload in the
-proposed pocket to verify.

Title:
The solution from coolman seems to work, but it's not that elegant
because it just restarts docky after it crashes each time you pull the
plug or suspend. This is certainly an excellent work-around, but I hope
there's a better solution.

Ok, no dice. Looks like I'm going to learn how to debug linux drivers
:-) Thanks for your help Matthew. 3.14.1 doesn't react to rebuilding
and installing the drivers at all. Actually looking around now to see
if I can learn how to read what the drivers are actually seeing.
