machines running Samba 3.6.9 but it will *not* connect to a CentOS 7
machine running Samba 4.1.1.

Do you have any files in /etc/modprobe.d/ that does not have a .conf
extension? If you have, then this could be a duplicate of bug 1376966.
Log in to the root console, and run the following to check:
ls /etc/modprobe.d/|grep -v '\.conf$'

I tried installing openscenegraph/trusty-proposed (3.2.0~rc1-4ubuntu0.1)
following Chris Arges's instructions, but unfortunately it did not fix
the issue -- the font rendering appears the same as before, even with a
full rebuild of affected software.
It looks like libosgdb_freetype.so is not

Any time I try to run the nam executable I get a segmentation fault:
$ nam
Segmentation fault (core dumped)
$ nam nam.out

I tried to get a backtrace in gdb. Seems to be problem in the Tk
initialization routines:

I upgraded from 14.04 to 14.10. When I run /usr/bin/last, which relies
on /var/log/wtmp, I get the following output (note: I replaced my login
name with ):

i have the same issue, though it is not really randomly disconnecting,
but disconnecting 100% of the time every few minutes an ntfs external
hdd.

forgot to mention, i also had similar problems with various other
externel hdds, even ext3/4 formated.
