I could finally reproduce the issue and `sudo pkill zeitgeist` _and_
restarting `diodon` did the job.

I've had that problem since my first install of Trusty continuing on to
Utopic.
I'd like to add an observation I made while testing different kernels.
This error _does not_ occur when you select the kernel to boot.
