Well, the workaround is quite simple, just return to the old 331 and
reinstall the nvidia cuda tool kit and everything may be fine again so :
sudo apt-get purge nvidia-331 nvidia-prime mesa-utils
then

Hi, I am still having that issue on 14.04 Lenovo T540p with nvidia-prime
activated.
I had suspected it is 'Disable while typing' option in Mouse&Touchpad
configuration however disabling the option does not solve the problem.
At the same time 14.04 on Dell V131 does not have any issues with
touchpa
Been battling with NVIDIA since I installed Ubuntu several years ago.

Not much more to report. The error message was automatically generated
during installation of the latest (44) linux header installation. I
just run Software Updater as-is from Ubuntu.

Although this is bug was repported for 12.10, I am having this same
problem with [Xu|U]buntu 14.04. This started to show up about three
months ago, I can't recall exactly what kernel version.
The machine is the same model as the original of this bug repport (LG R590 5700)
$ uname -a
Linux cabore
Th settings panel performs a trySetSecurity which if it succeeds (there
is no prior code or passphrase or its cached) then the action proceeds
without a prompt for the previous code. If we can distinguish between
having no code and having it cached we could fix this in settings.

I know this is an old development thread, but since it is one of the first

How did you resolve this package conflict?
I tried several commands like
apt-get install -f
apt-get remove texlive*
apt-get purge texlive*
but none of them resolved the conflict.
