OK. 3.16.0-29 seems to be much better, but I just experienced the same
symptoms as for the logs (I believe) referred to in comment 77 above;
specifically, the machine lost association with the AP and could not
reestablish. Removing and reinserting the iwlmvm and iwlwifi modules
fixed the problem
I have no idea how mint works. In Ubuntu it is only in 15.04, which is
still in development so Ubuntu users have to wait for that. My guess is
that you won't see it in Mint until their next release either.

My question was, why did you use the PPA? Was it only to get a newer
version than the 1.2.8 available in vivid at the time, or was there a
feature which it enabled which is not enabled in the archive?

I am not sure why you wouldn't want the egg info file installed so
Noone is arguing we don't want it installed. We want a simple test case
(pypi install downburst) to test the new package with the egg-info,
to make sure it is correct.
