I can confirm this bug on Dell Vostro 14-5459 with Ubuntu Desktop 14.04
LTS and 16.04 LTS. When using a touchpad as mouse, mouse pointer stuck
randomly and can be activated only with clicking on left button (mouse
is configured for operation in right hand mode). Occasionally touchpad

after resuming from suspend, either immediately after resume or within a
couple of minutes. Hard power-cycle by holding down power button is
only way out (CTRL+ALT+F1 unresponsive and entire laptop appears
frozen).

It is true that I can still view these emails, however, this would not
solve my use-case.
I archive mails when I've dealt with them or when they require no
action. This means that I have "read" emails sitting in my inbox that
still require my attention and I have "unread" emails sitting

to have a completely different default configuration backported to
Ubuntu 14.04 LTS than the configuration that is currently in Ubuntu
15.10 and Ubuntu 16.04 LTS.
