What do you mean by "mixed method"?
The mini.iso image can be booted from a CD drive, and pulls the files it
needs for installation from the Ubuntu archive or a local mirror.
If you are netbooting, the netboot.tar.gz is normally what you would
download and unpack, not the mini.iso.

I'm getting this after upgrading Trusty -> Xenial but apport never
actually completes the bug filing process. It's there in /var/crash:
lance@lance-desktop:~$ ls /var/crash
_sbin_plymouthd.0.crash
Launchpad won't let me attach it.

I pulled your branch MP and promoted the xenial-updates libpam-winbind
binary to main (we can't promote the xenial-release one, but that should
be fine). Need to wait until that publishes until I can rebuild -meta.
