I found, that this folder is not shown, because it contains only a

Yes this makes a lot of sense. The situation is the same for me, but I
started automatically removing a list of packages from my lxd containers
- including mdadm. That's why the problem disappeared.
Mdadm could still make sense in a container (privileged with raw access
to devices etc.) but
Although I saw some concerning artifacts when running zesty in a
VirtualBox VM the other day (and resizing the window). Those might have
been caused by this fix(?). Needs investigating.

I installed Ubuntu 16.10 using a chroot. I use network-manager to manage
connections. My system is up-to-date (so I use network-manager
1.2.4-0ubuntu1).
Wifi works perfectly but I cannot connect to wired networks and using my
phone's Bluetooth connection.
