In bug 1694156 we have had a - what appears to me as - similar case.
There we could track it down to a config issue, but maybe you here are affected
by the same issue yet without a simple config issue to fix.

However Mir is still under active development and is supported in
Ubuntu. Mesa is central to that effort and possibly GTK is too. So Mesa
will be set to "Won't Fix" for now. And GTK might also follow.

This is especially relevant now that Ubuntu 17.10 is shipping gnome
instead of unity, and so there is no file menu any more.

Actually, in 17.10 it looks like there is a New Folder option from the
right-most dropdown menu, it's just not obvious because there's only an
icon for it.

I am having the same problem with an iPhone too. "Trusting" the computer
in the Phone temporally solves it but I don't want to trust the computer
if I can avoid it :-).
Any debug we can help out?

Hans, do you want to submit debdiffs for xenial and zesty too? For a
universe package like this, there probably isn't enough time to bother

Verified on yakkety with 1.2.6p12-1ubuntu0.16.10.1 from -proposed.
So spun up an instance in canonistack, installed check-mk-livestatus,
enabled broker_module, changed logrotate to hourly.
Without fix it would segfault:
