When trying to use pulseaudio to control volume on my ASUS Zenbook Pro
UX550VE *uses AC295 audio codec) I noticed that pulseuadio is varying

Changing the kernel parameters as proposed by Elias allowed me to
successfully select the intel card using prime-select. This cut my power
consumption in half (30 W -> 16 W as reported by powertop).
