Update,
I changed the configuration in Tweak Tool, change the "Focus Mode"
from "mouse" to "Click". Afterthat, only when I do a click on the
windows other than gedit induce the high cpu consumption. The operation
did not show any noticeable error in system log file.

I was trying to install ubuntu 18.04 on my lenovo G40-70.
I wanted to install two OS parallelly. So, first I installed Windows 8 on a

split out into separate -dbg

I may have find a pattern today while working on files: for some reason,
it seems that the impossibility to rename happens when there is a
scrollbar displayed (i.e. the list of folders/files doesn't fit in
