Still no default Chinese input method was selected when booted into the
Chinese locale. Very inconvenient and unexpected. Should follow the

input method. The user can subsequently change to his or her preferred
method.

Interestingly after an upgrade from Xenial to Bionic on a Laptop this problem
did not occur. It also occurred with a clean install on another Barebones PC,

Thanks for the report Gijs,
This seems to be a recurring problem, or perhaps one that's just
difficult to completely solve.
The bug you referenced:
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/NetworkManager-openvpn/issues/10
includes a mention of this fix:
The suggested fix is quite a lot of code churn; I don't know if the
security process or SRU process would be more appropriate for this much
change. Thoughts?
Thanks

I was requested to check this on debian. A similar issue exists, so I

In this case the database is mariadb but the error is the same that
~/.local/share/akonadi/db_data/ does not exist. Presumably not
automatically
I not sure what exactly crashed it, I just got similar crash on Ubuntu
18.10, that all I know.

To manage notifications about this
it may not be a bug but a flaw in logwatch as the message just says that an
error collector has been initialized so it is more likely an info.
Alas logwatch gets triggered by the word "Errors" and whows this in its report.
So this may be the real issue.
