Added bionic-proposed to my ThinkPad 11e and installed 241ubuntu3.2.
Verified that blacklist i2c_i801 now exists in blacklist.conf. Rebooted
ThinkPad 11e and rebooted. Mouse did not work. However, did not perform
a manual running of update-initramfs. Thank you.

we are using ntp as a standard service, and it's deployed and configured by
puppet. So using chrony instead of ntp client is not really an option.
I just wanted to mention a dirty but possible quickfix to get around
this bug:

I was wrong. the 18.04.1 server-live installer (as well as daily ISOs
until today) have not improved upon this (tested on an UEFI booted
system only). The alternative (debian-installer based) server installer
works fine.
