Further investigation reveals that this is actually an upstream cgdb
0.6.7 deficiency. Newer GDBs do output coloring, which cgdb can deal
with starting with version 0.7.0. In other words, when Ubuntu moved to
a newer GDB version, it should also have bumped cgdb to 0.7.0 or newer.

not a host kernel crash, but a machine hang. usually a machine hang is
caused by HW misbehavior (that could have been caused by HW, firmware
and/or OS kernel). in those cases, the only way to get a kernel dump

ghex version 3.18.4 (and recent previous releases) have an option to show 64bit
hex values.
Unfortunately the displayed value is only 32bit.
The attached patch fixed the immediate bug by using a 64bit version of
pow2.
Alternatively a better fix might be to sprintf the value

activate. My drive was encrypted and I didn't have this problem when I
previously upgraded from 18.10 to 19.04. Upon rebooting I got a kernel
panic, a picture of which is attached.

Just to add some context: all the bubbles appear stacked on the same
monitor. (Last time I checked anyway.)
They should either be one per monitor or preferably just one on the
current monitor. I'm not sure if the former is possible as the
notifications seem to follow the mouse pointer.
