I found a temporary "solution". Apparently, it is a superficial problem.
Solution: when the hotspot option is gray (impossible to click), just
click on another option in the left configuration menu and go back to
the "Wi-Fi" option and the hotspot option appears selectable again.

I don't mean to put this on you but as the Gnome disks options also
worked for you i might be better if you run the report_system_area scan
between the normal ISO and the Gnome disk edited version so it gets done
correctly as i'm getting out of my depth here as a point and click
The real issue is that no matter what you put in GRUB_DISTRIBUTOR=whatever then
grubx64.efi loads EFI/ubuntu/grub.cfg instead of loading EFI/whatever/grub.cfg .
It's like the path is hardcoded in the binary.

The weird thing is, after doing this, there is an additional "pluma" in
the Properties/Open With list. It appears that for some reason "Pluma"

Got help from @rscholar on Telegram and i had my alsa.headroom set to
low changing that to 1024 instead of 0 made things work again :)
