Public bug reported:
Since kernel version 3.13.0-27, my Asus VM40B goes into kernel panic
during boot, seemingly due to an error with the WiFi driver, rtl8821ae.
The attached screenshot of the screen (I have no idea how to otherwise
capture the output of a kernel panic) shows the error with

Confirmed here, too: to me this happens when I try to import new photos:
when I click the Open button in the dialog, after having choosen the
directory to import from, it crashes with the same error.

I think the problem is that python-kde4 is still 4.3.5 (as of today),

I can confirm, too, the same issue on KDE 4.2 RC1 on Intrepid i386, also the
non-saving issue (i.e. any change to kmix).
I also have to add that my system does not return to the KDM login dialog, X
does not restart and I have to manually log into a console (CTRL-ALT-F1/6) and
halt the system.
@FredBezies: no, at least not in my case, because I have a SiS AC'97

@rpgmaker: yes, I too think that not every bug can be solved in time,
but from this page it seems that there are a lot of configurations in
which this happens, and the impossibility to shut down the system
(because if it hangs for more than 30 seconds, people will hard shut
down it) is an
Same problem here on 8.10 RC (installed yesterday, october 26), hangs on
shutting down alsa; I am going to try the trick.
I am on an Asus A6000, sound card (from lspci):

Adding a new note: on my system, this bug happens only when booting with
the realtime (-rt) kernel (the one in the official repository), when
using the generic one everything seems fine.

Same problem here, I just wanted to reinstall the gnome desktop (not with
ubuntu-desktop, doesn't it install also the boot splash and other amenities
like that? My system is actually Kubuntu-kde4 and I wanted Gnome only for some
testing issues).

Here too.
It seems that indi-kde4 is not to be compiled (it is commented out from the
debian/control file), and kstars declares, in the same file, to depend, replace
and conflict with indi-kde4.
I think this is an error, as noticed by someone else in this same page.
