Same problem here, I just wanted to reinstall the gnome desktop (not with ubuntu-desktop, doesn't it install also the boot splash and other amenities like that? My system is actually Kubuntu-kde4 and I wanted Gnome only for some testing issues). If gnome-keyring-manager has been deprecated, no problem with that, but I think that having a package depending on a deprecated package is a bug.
