Before showing the menu, grub shows 30 seconds of black screen. I cannot
interrupt by pressing either Shift or ESC. (I'm not aware of any
relevant boot-related keys.) While waiting, there is no harddrive

I can confirm that the workaround in comment #89 mostly works on an ASUS
M2400N. I could not boot with acpi=off as described in step 1, it
locked up with a black screen. I had to do a text-mode install instead.
After that, I continued from step 2 and everything went as described.

Just confirmed this problem on Lucid final.
My Nexus One SDcard is mounted when I try this (otherwise Banshee could
not display or play its current music library).
When I try to copy, I get a couple of Errors:

I have a bit of a feeling that this was caused by my ISP (!) resolving
non-resolvable DNS names to their stupid search page. Once I opted out
of that behaviour, auto-detecting DAAP shares started working. Still,
auto-detection of local resources should not be dependant on external
services like

Binary package hint: indicator-applet
When I select Broadcast in the Indicator Applet (Lucid final), I'd
expect Gwibber to open.
Instead, after some seconds of hard-disc activity, nothing happens.
I already have some accounts configured (Twitter, Laconica).

This bug is still present on Lucid. However, after resuming from suspend
both displays are active and mirror-mode is activated. I would expect
only to return to the state before suspend, which means external display
off.

- Germany Germany Eliminate dead keys (after a Jaunty-Lucid final

- US Latin American (comment #4)
