Re #13: I removed the fglrx driver installed by Ubuntu and replaced it
with the 11.8 Catalyst driver directly from AMD. The watermark
disappeared and also it seems that some of the garbage I occasionally
got when running a rotated display are now gone.

Public bug reported:
When trying to create a new account Thunderbird hardcodes the SMTP
server to SMTP.domain.tld. There are mail systems where host
smtp.domain.tld does not exist and the outgoing server is something else
(in my case mail.tut.fi) and Thunderbird can't create a account for
those.
Oh, the UI is just confusing.. At first sight it seems that the mail
server comes from the left side of the input boxes because the input
boxes are pre-filled with .domain.tld.
So, now this is only a matter of UI feature request (make it more
clear).

How can this be reproduced?
Was this dist-upgrade from 8.10 - 9.04 or 9.04 - 9.10?
On the other hand each of these releases are already EOL'ed so this bug
could be invalidated.

Dear Pedro,
Good that you reminded me but unfortunately it looks even worse now on
Natty. When I enable the plugin it doesn't find the server at all. Still
Totem works as great as before and even my new Android phone finds the
server (although it isn't able to play the FLAC files but that's a
