I noticed that mpd has no upstart job. Since Ubunutu uses a different
init.d script than Debian anyway I think moving to Upstart should be
fine. Attached is a job configuration for mpd that at least runs fine on
my system (oneiric).

the troubles were with the frontend because the behavior changed with changing
frontends. The only thing I remember not being able to connect to a linksys

I may have been to eger to report this bug since it doesn't affect me
anymore, maybe because I also insalled the karmic versions of acpid,
acpi-support and pm-utils. This should also cover the kms quirks. the
only thing that doesn't work is dpms support. I can succesfully suspend
my machine by

now I can use that other OS's key to make lancelot come up.

fix, so the PPA is only needed for those not willing to cherypick from the

I agree its not realy a solution, I was just browsing some new
bugreports and yours came by I thought maybe it is okay now, just ask
and lift some weight of the shoulders of the developers.

I had this same trouble with using a high quality/heavy resampling codec
on a speed switching cpu. this messes up pulseaudio, made me drop it
alltogether.
try using a relaxer codec like speaks with a lower quality setting.
this did the trick for me.

Before you try to install or upgrade packages you should update your
package lists, the package manager downloads some lists with information
about version dependencies and a lot of other stuf.
This is probably the reason for the above 404 error, your package
manager is trying to download a file
Some googleing turned up a module named cciss for SmartArray 5i controller.
but this is availeble in ubuntu kernel, so I would think mkinitramfs should
have included it.
If you are not even getting a grub screen you should reinstall grub,
google around on getting there.

It has more to do with the version of network-manager and even more with the
tool you use for controlling it.

Coming to think of it, perhaps this should be a HAL bug. As far as I
understand the HAL daemon is responsible for most of the power
management and in my opinion should be the one to deal with panel power
management too.
This is just my two cents, kick me if you don't agree.

I can confirm the work around posted by supernaicol, after downgrading grub my
two waiting kernel updates finaly installed succesfully.
The bug seems to be with the update-grub script, or the calling of it from
dpkg. I don't know enough of the package managment to realy asses this.

to reboot my system, fsck failes because my fstab lists UUID's and I
have to press Ctrl+D to continue booting. If I can contribute in any way

My system worked perfectly with Edgy and new Feisty up to the updates
recently including kernel 2.6.19 which required me to reboot. Edgy
changed my /etc/fstab to mount by UUID and now none of my non-root
partitions are found anymore.
Also I now noticed that fdisk -l reports /dev/sda, /dev/sdb,

I pressed Ctrl+D and everything gets mounted and everything is fine. I
checked the UUID's with vol_id and they match with /etc/fstab.
