Fedora patch improves things to the point that the podsleuth cli command
and banshee recognize my newer Ipod. There are still some issues with
the old HP 40G black and white ipod that I do not believe are purely
related to the HAL bug.

patch ONLY applies to the console 'podsleuth' tool at this point, and is
not believed to address the root of the problem:

but the most significant challenge to hotplugging beagle is where do I
keep the index? (many writes in one place on a flash device ruin the

When I close my Banshee cvs build, there is currently a bug that causes it to
segfault on exit.
This is fine, but apport picks it up and attempts to do its magic. Instead of a
few seconds of churn and Apport popping up its UI, it hangs forever.
Banshee remains alive,
I've seen this (or similar) from my Banshee cvs build.
After apport is triggered the window remains open indefinately, although not
redrawing.
Stopping the apport service or kill -9/-11 on the pid have no effect.

Startup scripts, or rather autostart .desktop files are installed.
The Search menu is only updated on a fresh login. A fresh login will start

This is currently not possible to fix. libmuine links directly to a
library (libfaad) in multiverse to read metadata from AAC files. We
cannot build packages in universe against multiverse, and I have no
intention of demoting muine for this. In the not-so-distant future muine
will use pluggable

Regardless of whether one user said it was stable with limited testing, there
is no final 0.8.5 release as of yet. Dapper is now closed for business, we will
get 0.8.5 in edgy shortly after it is released.
