I've built a package for Ubuntu 12.04(Precise). It passes lintian
without errors or warnings, and builds in pbuilder and launchpad.

Should the provision script be run during package installation? I don't
think a fully provisioned domain is what a user expects after installing
this package. Also, the needed fields, realm, FQDN, etc... may not be
set up properly during installation.
