I bought a PCI Express card (PEXUSB3S44V from Startech, see
https://www.startech.com/nl/en/Cards-Adapters/USB-3.0/Cards/PCI-Express-
USB-3-Card-4-Dedicated-Channels-4-Port~PEXUSB3S44V) basically because it
is the most expensive card you can get (I was hoping to rule out certain
things with that).

I can now 100% reproduce this:
1) Run an application to test that the connected USB3 device (a 3D camera)
works (cheese).
It works.
2) Power off the 3D camera.
This produces the well-known dmesg lines.
3) Power on the 3D camera; run cheese again: "No device detected".

the BIOS as all the other USB did.
However, I STILL get a reproducible freeze up:

The ONLY way to get it to work at all ever is to turn iommu off in the bios
and use iommu=soft as kernel parameter (as is described as the "solution"
on many forums) AND I need to have certain device plugged into USB and/or
Hi Daniel,
do you think that removing Yaru's style would have a positive impact on
this issue or it would be useless?
The slice of css you reported comes from a file containing specific
style for applications that can be dropped easily if not necessary (and
even more easily if harmful)

Hi, thanks for taking time to report this problem.
Do you reproduce it only using Yaru theme? It seems more a problem on mutter
side, as said in the upstream issue.
