Hey there,
I created a patch which updates os-mlock.c to adjust for the changes
made on the kernel-side in get_user_pages() (include/linux/mm.h).
However, I do not have a deep understanding of why the first 2
parameters of get_user_pages() were removed which is why this solution
needs to be
Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: lshw
lshw, a small tool to provide detailed information on the hardware
configuration of a machine, causes the kernel to print a stacktrace when
checking sysfs and then freezes the machine. I don't know if this is a
kernel-regression since I am new to

Oh well, it seems this bug is a duplicate to bug #614008...

I would like to see an iceweasel in ubuntu 8.10. Debian did and does a
great job with this fork - Ubuntu would just have to use the debian
packages and be happy. I don't get the point of abrowser.

AN IRRELEVANT LICENSE IS PRESENTED TO YOU FREE-OF-CHARGE ON STARTUP
Well, since xorg 7.4 and it's input-hotplugging goodness the
InputDevices-sections of the xorg.conf-file do not have any effect on your
input-hardware. Instead, evdev does this using the hal's fdi-configfiles
located in /etc/hal/fdi . Unfortunately, the shipped evdev-version is too old
making
Ah, I forgot to mention that this should not be considered as a bug but
as an unimplemented feature. In fact, evdev in intrepid alpha 5 is just
outdated (which I guess is going to be fixed soon). Plus maybe it would
be a nice thing to have this fdi-profile shipped with the main
distribution :).
Hey!
I'm sorry for my incompetence but I have been quite busy with rl. I
managed to build a 2.6.25 kernel which in fact does NOT hang the
machine. Seems like the upstream kernel successfully fixed this bug.
After connecting a new device to the ultrabay an acpi-event appears but
does not seem to
Uh Oh, I could swear it worked with my 2.6.25-rc4 kernel some time ago
and now my 2.6.25-rc6 hangs again with the same behaviour as the 2.6.24
did... very strange... Ok, how to go on? Shall I file a bug report to
kernel.org now? I guess I should do so...

Thinkpad Ultrabay produces a fatal
One more thought: This (

looks to have some connections to my bug... maybe mine is a duplicate of

Yes, I can confirm what JojoMan says. First, I thought it could be an
internal buffering problem in the pulseaudio-server itselfs but that
would not explain why the whole machine gets stuttering... I think the
sound stuttering is just a side-effect and the real problem lies
somewhere else... in
I also experience this problem on a Thinkpad T61 which is a dualcore
machine with 4GB of RAM meaning you can even face this problem on decent
hardware. I mostly notice this stutter-behaviour when hearing mp3s
using audacious with the pulseaudio soundserver. It also happens even on
low cpu-load.

Thanks for you report Christian. You mention that you see this in the

My Lenovo Thinkpad T61 (Type:7664-18G; BIOS:2.10; AMT:1.08) completely

Normally, this should create an acpi-event which gets

Ok, I switched to a terminal an removed my cdrom-drive. The last thing I get on
my console is:
[ 554.587280] ata1: exception Emask 0x10 SAct 0x0 SErr 0x0 action 0xa frozen

After that the systems hangs. Of course there is a great chance for a data loss.

I have been working with my T61 the whole day using the new BIOS and as
far as I can tell the problem seems to be really gone! IMHO if some more
people have the same experience and the guys at kernel.org (

problems, that
There is a new BIOS-Update available for the R61/T61's (2.07/1.08) which is
supposed to fix the interrupt problem.

kernel disables irq
Public bug reported:

I can agree to this. Yesterday I also experienced that after irq 21 got
disabled by the kernel (?) also the irq 22 got turned off about half an
hour later followed by a hang-up of my T61. Maybe it has something to do
with the bluetooth-dongle? I don't even know how it is connected to the
