[Bug 1758494] [NEW] The installer encountered an error copying files to the hard disk

2018-03-24 Thread Christopher J. Shaker
Public bug reported: I swapped out the SATA cable, and installed a brand new one. Same error as I reported 15 or 20 minutes ago. Installation failed, claiming that it could not write to a read only file on the hard disk. I have a photo on my CELL that I can send you. This is while attempting to

[Bug 1758490] [NEW] Crash while installing Ubuntu onto known good 1 TB SSD

2018-03-24 Thread Christopher J. Shaker
Public bug reported: Just installed known good Mushkin 1TB SSD as the new boot disk. Install failed. It is possible that this might be caused by a failed SATA cable, because my previous boot disk, a 300 GB Enterprise Raptor got a bunch of CRC errors, and became unbootable. I'm going to replace

Another workaround is to use the xemacs21 package instead. Works great for me on Lubuntu. Chris Shaker -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/684613 Title: emacs crashes with Arithmetic

[Bug 619052] Re: file update-motd-updates-available is empty

2010-12-08 Thread Christopher J. Shaker
After my upgrade to Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS, my /usr/lib/update-notifier /update-motd-updates-available was bad, too. It actually exec'd itself, hanging logins infinitely! Reinstalling update-notifier-common using apt-get fixed it. Chris Shaker -- You received this bug notification because you are

[Bug 181576] Re: Messages flagged as Junk even when junk filtering off (IMAP)

2010-01-16 Thread Christopher J. Shaker
I'm getting bitten by this bug, too. Junk check is still occurring on IMAP folders when Check new messages for Junk contents is disabled under the email account. This bug makes Evolution unusable for me, unless I can work around it some way. Guess I'll see if I can clear the Junk tag from all of

[Bug 181576] Re: Messages flagged as Junk even when junk filtering off (IMAP)

2010-01-16 Thread Christopher J. Shaker
I've tried to configure Evolution to disable all Spam filtering, because it is already done on my Linux server. I went into Thunderbird on my Mac, and told it to mark all of the messages in my IMAP folders as 'read'. Did not see any easy way to mark folders of email as 'not spam'. Exited from
