The package you mention from the PPA have several issues. These are
mostly based on the packaging of the bluefish 1.0 series (which I'm
responsible for). The packaging files have not been adjusted for the
changes in bluefish and list outdated build- and runtime-dependencies.

This has been fixed a long time ago. It is caused by a bashism in the

I'm a bit surprised. reportbug shouldn't run gnupg2. Or did you run a
different command?
You might further simply turn off the gnupg-agent in .gnupfg/gpg.conf.
This is something Ubuntu enables even for gnupg 1.4 (for whatever
reason, see https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnupg/+bug/367163
This is a bug in the blt package. See
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/blt/+bug/359857. The
stacktrace involves Tcl versions 8.4 and 8.5. Your blt version is
2.4z-4.2, correct??

Nothing has changed. There is no plan to migrate gnupg 1 and 2 to the
alternatives system. Especially scripts might break when pointing
/usr/bin/gpg to gnupg2. Gnupg 1 and 2 do not behave identically (the
second for example requires a running agent).

There are plans to clean the (X)HTML output of docbook-xsl. So you can
leave this open. However, this is not a short term goal. So it might
stay open for a while.

You can easily purge gabedit: apt-get remove --purge gabedit.
I cannot reproduce the crash. You might recompile gabedit without
stripping the binary and provide a backtrace of the segfault via
gdb/ddd.

This is not necessarily the case. The build environment contains some
difficulties for the /usr/{lib,share}/gnupg2 paths chosen by Debian and

Can you please test this with recent gpg versions (e.g. in a CHROOT) and
report back? Ideal would be logs (e.g. --verbose, --status-fd, --logger-
