Hi, I'm not sure if this problem is being looked into, as all has gone quiet...
I guess it is not a priority, it also seems my last explanation has not make
any impact.
I'm sorry but I'm not able to upgrade to 10.04 Lucid... but is all OK with my
wireless link on 9.10..

Hi Jeremy...
Ok I've now started all over again... cleaned my hard drive ... and reinstalled
10.04 from CD image down load.
I've updated using the update manager
I have the same problem with the non wireless recognition of my Laptop...
It was working before with 9.10... has there been a

I guess I will have to return to Ubuntu 9.10 and wait for a solution to the
wireless problems on 10.04 at a later date, and of course try and find out more
about using Ubuntu terminal language etc.

Well I've tried to do what you have directed... but unfortunately been unable
to make sense of finding the directory...
I guess I'm trying to use DOS type of commands. I really do not know this

Thanks for the reply... I'm really not sure this is a cure for the Wireless LAN
Hard Block I have...
There seems to be no way I can get the enable wireless to work, as it's
greyed out...
I've been pressing the FN setting with no positive result... Fn did work well
with Windows XP
I've now established that the MP3 file ripped using Ripper X do not work so I
guess these are not GOOD MP3 files.
Using other MP3 files Rhythmbox works OK.
The problem is with Ripper X and it's production of MP3 music files.!!!
I still have a problem with my laptop sound card recognition... it
Ok... Open - Rhythmbox
go to - Library... highlight Music...right click mouse...import mp3 file.
window pop up... Install Multimedia Plugins... seaches...
ID3 tag demuxer
Error... No packages with the requested plugins found...
ID3 tag demuxer OK
This then reverted to Rhythmbox and produced

Just to let you know I've sorted out why my Ubuntu start-up kept stopping at
the terminal screen.
I'm using an old recycled PC (to experiment with) and a USB connected Belkin
wireless network adaptor that I can only assume was unable to communicate with
the PC.
