This appears to be the same bug, but the workarounds don't help. This is

Same here. If I put a window in a workspace other than the first one and
then switch between workspaces, the window will always move back to the
first workspace. This is on a custom desktop with Ubuntu 12.04 x86_64,
ATI Radeon HD 5430 +fglrx 8.960. This worked fine in 11.10 which I just
upgraded
So, interestingly, when it closes suddenly without being prompted for an
error report, it seems to be when the AI has a piece left, and he cannot
capture anything and I can't capture his piece.
At that point, boom. No more game window. Probably a crash although I
haven't checked it in GDB.
So. Yeah, the AI is quite a bit dumber, but here's another score that was
entertaining to post.
Final stats.

Dark: AI
Dark: 20
Light: 13
Light player wins!
Yes, the message contradicts the score :)
(actual score on the board was Dark: 0 Light: 38 - AI didn't move for like 7
years
Hm. One reason it might not show up on errors.ubuntu.com is that it just

So, it looks like the reason the score is so wildly off on some games
(07-32 instead of 00-42 in last game) is that the score is only updated
when the AI captures. In this case, I made 7 moves, he made one, then I
made 3 more.
For those 10 moves I made, the score did not budge.

Found another interesting symptom. After the usual lag and darkening
window when AI was trying to move, I took a turn. It hung a bit, and
after the turn, instead of my move having been taken, the AI had taken a
move instead and the entire row was the AI colour. I hit undo a few
times, and the
I completely uninstalled eclipse, I then ran locate to find all eclipse files
(besides the dpkg stuff) and blew them away.
I removed ~/.eclipse as well.
I then launched eclipse once more.
Same error.
I tried sudo eclipse in desperation as mentioned in the thread. Didn't

Update: As far as I can tell the patched kernel works with respect to
this particular bug; I just can't use it because the board seems to lock
up (for presumably unrelated reasons) when I leave it running overnight.

I lost a video card over the weekend, so unfortunately I can't test the
proposed fix of disabling and re-enabling the Animations plugin.
However, I can provide my CCSM configuration related to the Animations
plugin, which I've attached. It was generated with `gconftool-2 -R
I'm on Oneiric with all the -proposed updates, and I've been seeing this
issue for a month or longer, but I don't use any apps that do HTML5
notifications. The main time I seem to see these white boxes pop up is
when clicking links from another app (e.g. pidgin, hotot) that open in
chrome. Also
One more thing: I'll second the observation that the size of the white
box seems related to the size of the window being opened. Others have
reported that, when the box is caused by an HTML5 notification, it is
the same size as that notification's normal window. When I see white
boxes pop up after

Hi, I can confirm I have this problem using two AMD cards on a triple
monitor setup.
Unity_2d session works and running 'unity --reset' does not render the
3d version of unity and the display results in broken windows. I've
attached the log (run_unity_reset.log)

So. I'm getting gnome-shell crashing quite a lot, like, once every 5 minutes or
so.
I haven't added any debug symbols yet, but I ran into your bug while looking
for pango_layout_get_iter which is apparently where I'm crashing.

The options you set disable the sound in-game, not in the Qt frontend.
Your error is typical of SDL failing to initialise the sound system.
One reason for that might be due to conflicting sound systems and a card that
does not
Er. A card that does not support *hardware* mixing.

Yeah, the haskell thing isn't that important. Some distros have never
included the server piece. Gentoo for example, since most people just
play on the public server.
It's a nice to have, but only necessary for LAN play.
