I can confirm this problem exists also on my laptop with Intrepid (updated from Hardy) and in my case it's not depending on the mismatched UUID in fstab. The swap is not mounted at all at boot time and running manually a sudo swapon -a -e wouldn't do anything either. This is exactly the same
