Are there any log files I should provide to help with fixing this?

It does: the option is available at the top right of the dialog that
shows up when you press Ctrl+S while highlighting the drive in question.
Also, confirming that disabling SMART does allow my Western Digital
drive to sleep, though I haven't timed how long it takes for that to
occur.

In theory then, could a short-term workaround be to disable SMART on the
drive in gnome-disks?

With the related fix installed from psusi's PPA installed, my hard drive
remains active/idle regardless of what timeout is set in gnome-disks,
although when I log into Unity after a reboot, my hard drive audibly
spins down and then immediately back up. I also get an error report from
the udisks2
Still present in Precise release, Catalyst driver version 12.4.

Application windows not redrawn, appears unresponsive
To manage
The bug is reproducible, to reproduce:
1) Have a maximized window by itself on a workspace other than the one you are
using
2) Activate expo plugin
3) Double click maximized window/workspace
4) Activate scale plugin via mouse button (must be bound through ccsm)
5) Point mouse at left side of
Public bug reported:
This is a weird bug. It seems to be most reproducible if you have a
maximized window (for example, Banshee). If you have another compiz
feature mapped to a mouse button (for example, one of the thumb buttons
set to the scale plugin) and you hold that button and move the mouse
Unfortunately still present in Oneiric release, running catalyst 11.9.

I also have this issue on Natty AMD64. It does not seem to be related to
the driver because I actually recently upgraded from an Nvidia 9600GT
(using that binary driver) to a Radeon 6870 (using the catalyst binary
driver.) Problem happened under both sides. Disabling Maximize Effect is

I'm pretty sure this is a FGLRX related issue because I only started
having this issue after installing a Radeon 6870, and therefore
switching to the FGLRX driver. I previously used Natty with an NVidia
9600 GT and the Nvidia binary from the website with mipmapping enabled,
with no problems.
This occurs on my machine as well, which is a desktop with nForce 630i
motherboard / MCP73 chipset. No wireless or intel equipment on my
computer at all so I doubt it is an iwlagn problem.

I have the same problems as these guys, although I notice that while I
click the button and it remains clicked (as the computer seems to
think I have not released the mouse button) I can press spacebar and it
will respond to the click.
I am mostly noticing this in Eclipse / Android SDK as well.
Sorry for the double post, but I feel I should mention this occurs both
on my custom-built desktop and on my Dell Mini 9 netbook, both running
Karmic.

I want to report that I've also had this problem with Hardy, Intrepid,

information I need to post. The same text loops in my auth.log:

I'm not sure what specifically causes it, but the situation in the
original post is true. In addition, when this does happen, generally I
no longer have sound in the X session I'm trying to use, which makes
this bug a little more important I think. I've been able to work around
the issue by either
I've had this problem on 3 setups:
Dell inspiron mini 9, ubuntu intrepid, firefox 3.1
Dell inspiron mini 9, ubuntu jaunty, firefox 3.5
Custom desktop, ubuntu jaunty, firefox 3.5.
If I watch the same video in Firefox 3.0, it works fine. This is an
FF3.5 issue.

Laptop Battery Time Remaining Outrageously Inaccurate
Sorry if this comes out really rude, but I'm new to this launchpad thing
and I would like to know.
What does it actually take to get this bug confirmed? Is about 15
posts from different users all saying confirmed somehow not enough?
The problem is still persisting on my Inspiron 1501,
Agreed. I used 11M and now 11Mb/sec is reported. The system monitor
applet shows that my transfers cap at around 70KB/sec. I get around
700KB/sec wired from the same router.
