Hardy has Xen 3.2, but doesn't have cpufreq support on the Xen
hypervisor nor the Xen dom0 kernel.
Redhat Enterprise 5.2 contains some patches to Xen and the Xen dom0
kernel that allow cpufreq on amd and intel cpus only if the dom0 has all
the vcpu assigned.

Today that there is the new nvidia driver 100.14.19, the black console
problem is still not fixed. The only driver that allows me full
functionality after suspend is the old 8776 driver. That is bad, because
I can't use the new features of the new drivers...
(texture_from_pixmap!).

My tvcard doen't resume well after suspend to ram, i need to unload
saa7134 ans saa7134_alsa modules before suspend to ram.
After a resume from suspend (without unloading the module), if I unload
them and reload them the card start
I've re-installed the unpatched 0.8.1 edgy-backports version and replaced
lircd.conf with the new one..
It works...
So you should revert that patch and document well this change, maybe setting a
debconf alert on installation.

about hw_pinsys.c. It works now.

driver.
Once I downgraded lirc packages it restarted working.
The new version don't give any error, it simply doesn't work. irw shows
no ir codes, running as user and as root.

Same problem of yours with an hp nx7400 notebook (intel 945gma).
xset dpms off
shuts down the backlight for a few seconds.
Only vbetool dpms off shuts down backlight really.
I tried on debian etch (similar packages, same i810 driver, same notebook) the
problem is not present.

I'll explain the real situation, so you can understand what happened:
- /mnt/cont is the mountpoint of an ext3 partition
- / is another partition, /home/emi is in this partition.
- /home/emi/Desktop is a symlink to /mnt/cont/linux_home/Desktop

I solved the problem, moving the Desktop dir to another place, making
and empty desktop dir, log in, log out, moving the old desktop back. The
icons now are normal, using the same symlink.
Perhaps could nautilus remember settings about icon behaviour?

There il also a strange mtrr with 1.6.5 driver:
