Checking my update history and my crash logs indicates that the crashes
started happening to me after i updated xserver-xorg-input-synaptics
from 1.6.0-0ubuntu1~precise1 to 1.6.2-1ubuntu1~precise1.

My laptop regularly crashes with this error message. I think it only
happens after having been on standby before.
Strange thing is, i sometimes get this error message:
Xorg crashed with SIGSEGV in XIGetDeviceProperty()
But sometimes i have:
Xorg crashed with SIGSEGV in XIChangeDeviceProperty()
Happens to me about every 1-3 hrs i have my laptop running.
I am on a Xubuntu 12.04 though. Started happening after update-manager
installed xorg-server 2:1.11.4-0ubuntu10.5 last thursday. (I had 10.3
installed before.)
Not sure if it's really the same bug.

And no more freezes since then. I was trying hard today to make my
system freeze having many applications open including
I seem to have the same problem, same graphics card. It happens rather
regularly on my laptop. About every 30-60 minutes. Super-SysRq-k usually
doesn't work for me. Sometimes it does.
This problem has appeared for me unregarding of what programs i am
using. Once even having all programs closed
