previously wrote, few users of LXDE - meaning even fewer developers of
LXDE - in Ubuntu.

With Lubuntu moved to LXQt, I'm afraid that there are not so many users
of LXDE/PCManFM left in Ubuntu land. As you can see, I've reported the
bug more than 2 months ago and until yesterday (when you wrote
something) there's been only deep silence.
My use case for LXDE is installing (custom net
@shasheene, can any of the Rescuezilla project users mark this bug as
affecting them as well? Maybe this will increase visibility and the
chance of getting into Ubuntu 20.04 the already existing fix.

This is a horrible bug. I spent the last 2 days testing reproducing
it. I want to share my findings with you.

Finally I've just stopped using LXDE in 13.04 and went for XFCE instead.
In 13.10 I've returned to LXDE as the problem seems to be fixed.

On Ubuntu 12.04 custom LXDE netinstall in vmware, pcmanfm is crashing
when pressing F5 (Refresh) on even starts of the program. On odd starts
of the program, pressing F5 produces no crash.
Example:
1st start of pcmanfm. Press F5, works as expected (Refresh is performed).
Same here on AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ running 64-bit version of 12.04.

I have performed a bare metal netinstall of Ubuntu 12.04 64bit - only
the very basic system, just to get the PC started. Next, I've installed
packages lxde-core, xorg and lxdm to get a basic graphical environment.
Now, when trying to install package pidgin, a lot of extra
Normally (and previously) pidgin would require ~10 extra packages
(dependencies). Now it requires ~100 extra packages (dependencies). You
don't call this a bug - ok, I understand. However, I don't call this a
question, either.
