- In my two cases (AMD and Intel GPU notebooks) the black screen was 100%, not
a fraction of boot processes. With "quiet splash" "on" I was never able to

Deleting "quiet splash" is the better workaround, rather than
"nomodeset". I can confirm that without either "quiet splash" AND
"nomodeset" in GRUB all energy saving works in the HP notebook with AMD

I've just installed Kubuntu 24.04 LTS on it.
I get a black screen after the HP logo on starting up (first time). Only

Strangely changing the installed system to use the 'nouveau' Nvidia
driver does NOT fix the problem.

active but fail to support the HDA sound hardware correctly.

Hi,
I know this is a really core feature of a distribution, and I'm not sure
it's the best place to open this discussion, but I'd like to open the
idea to have the possibility that the user can choose not to install
firefox by default, or even better let the user choose his

Not sure where to get the information you're requesting for the crash.
Installer said it sent one and the screen I have up now says the info
