This bug is still present in fully updated 10.04 64-bit Kubuntu. Any
help on this is desperately needed.
It can be reproduced as follows:
$ mkdir Apostrophe's a problem
$ mkdir Apostrophe's still a problem
Now type:
$ cd Apostro
and tab-tab-tab to where it should autocomplete or offer
I can confirm this as well in fully updated Karmic.

My contribution: I also lost sound (test sound, startup sound, shutdown
sound) after a clean install of Kubuntu 8.04 64-bit (and a restart). Was
unable to get System Settings - Sound System - Test Sound to play
until (after perusing forums) I set Auto-suspend if idle after to 1
second. Also, after
I'm experiencing the same thing on a Dell Inspiron 1501 running Kubuntu

Excellent! I am now able to wirelessly connect to my WEP-encrypted
router with no difficulty. Although it now appears to work well, this
should be a MUCH more automated process when using the (KDE) restricted
driver manager. Hopefully it will be fixed in the 8.04 final release.
As a side note, in
Ignore my comment about not being able to connect to an open but non-
broadcasting router, that's entirely an eye-dee-ten-tee error :)
