My Linux PC is temporarily out of commission for different reasons, but
it was working fine with the newest updates just a week ago. Somewhere
along the line the updates to 8.04 fixed the problem. I cannot really
pinpoint exactly when those updates fixed the problem. Sorry.thanks

Yes...still an issue. Others have also had problems with wireless
connections on 8.04. I'm still booting from the older kernel generated
last Feb 2008, but still installing updates along the way. Seems
strange that the old kernel still works with all the updates through
August 2008.
