No - that's just my imagination. The resampler changes when the first
audio stream starts playing. The only error messages in the logs are:

run less or top it just states bash: fork: Cannot allocate memory.
Running a large for-loop should not make bash hold onto this much memory
for its whole session.

suddenly degrades. The audio crackles, and it also sounds like the
bitrate has been lowered drastically.
I have attached a pulseaudio log. I can't pinpoint exactly where in the
