Same problem on Lubuntu 18.04 with the build from the most current
ubuntu repo (1.0.5 I believe. 2:1.0.5+dfsg2-4.1). The 1.8.4 version
from the arduino website works fine.

I wanted to set the keyboard shortcut for "Copy a screenshot of a window
to clipboard" to Alt+Print but it wouldn't allow me. I could use other
combinations however, Ctrl+print, Shift+Print, etc. I disabled the Alt
key in Compiz to show the HUD as well so nothing happens when I tap or
press Alt,
This prevented me from logging onto my computer after a restart. It
shut me down for over 2 hours. I'm using the version from the ubuntu
software center of guvcview (guvcview 1.7.1-1ubuntu1).

I have a similar problem with an HP p1006 printer. However, I'm not
running Ubuntu 12.04 in virtual box and I do have a few errors in
/var/logs/cups:
