I confirm, this also occurs with my zenbook. It crashes most frequently when
Video is running or during Skype conversations.

I can confirm this bug on a 1008 eeepc with kubuntu lucid netbook
edition, 2.6.32-19-generic kernel and the kde 4.4.2 packages. The bug
persists for a while (at least since kde 4.3 packages).
Thanks Thomas for your Tipp to disable locking screen - makes life with
the netbook much easier...

you can work around the default gnuplot behaviour by starting gnuplot
with
rlwrap -a -c gnuplot
this will give you file completion with tabs (if you give file names
using - quotes anyway, ' - quotes do not work for me).

I can confirm that this bug affects the OS ati driver as well:
I use kububtu/kwin and ati driver. Desktop effects are on. There is no
xinerama section in my xorg.conf.
xorg is freezing at random times - I could not detect any pattern yet.
When logging in with ssh from my other machine Xorg
The same problem here with an external bloetooth usb device (Anycom 2.0
Bluetooth) and a mighty mouse. After I un- and replug the bluetooth usb
device the mouse gets reconnected.
