Desktop icon is not working in Ubuntu 24.04.
I right clicked on the regular folder icon. Then clicked on Properties.
Then the icon. The custom icon is showing in the file manager - Nautilus
but not in the Desktop.

Yes, it appears to be the same bug. It's the FIF_EXR constant that's
wrong.
A temporary workaround is to do this:
FREE_IMAGE_FORMAT exrFormat = FreeImage_GetFIFFromFilename("dummy.exr");
Then using exrFormat in place of FIF_EXR make the problem disappear.

yes, we confirmed that it works correctly with FreeImage 3.17.0 built
from source. So the bug is specific to Ubuntu 16.04 packaging.
(Note, the source did not build out of the box, there was some trivial
bug with raw string delimiters that we had to manually patch.)

Happens to me as well with 16.04. If I forget to manually unmount all
nfs shares before shutdown, it hangs forever. No fstab parameter seems
to solve this problem. Any work-arounds?

This is more of an enhancement needed rather than a bug. So how do we go
about doing it.
PS: Would someone be kind enough to tell me which are the files
responsible for drawing the System Settings > Mouse and Touchpad pages.
The fix should be done there I think. (Really new to this.)

I think a workaround is to use xinput.

I have time and again tried to install Personal Deta sharing program for
bluetooth conection but an error occurs saying Requires installation of
untrusted packages (The action would require the installation of
packages from not authenticated sources)...i am unable to solve
Seems as if the system gets confused between the system installed tlmgr
and the vanila tlmgr.
i would suggest to make a solution which can update the PATH variables
so this problems is avoided.

I am using intel core i5 processor. I have made a usb live disk for
Xubuntu 64bit OS. But the live mood is okay. When I tried to install it
in the Hard drive then I got option to choose the hard disk management
tool. I selected do something different then I made the full
installationsprogram installiert es nicht, es gibt immer
abbruch meldungen raus.
