Bug appears to exist upstream in version 3.11.0-031100rc6.201308181835.
Have added the above tags as requested. Basically rebooting into the new
kernel leads to the same issue with a complete freeze until the USB key
is unplugged and replugged. At that time, the system returns to normal.

adapter on my desktop I could just pull it out and put it back in very
quickly. Now it is on a server this bug is more significant!

Randomly unity seems to lose its theme, which is restored by logging out
and logging back in. See attached (top bar) to see what happens.
If there is anything more I can do to help, let me know, but I can't
predict when it happens, it seems to

More 'add to launcher' failures with unity side menu. LibreOffice from
the PPA on launchpad does not have such a menu item.

When running inkscape on Ubuntu Maverick, after initially showing the
entire top menu in the global menubar, the menu items disappear, leaving
an empty menu, which is really irritating. If this could be fixed that
would be ideal.

This may well have been fixed upstream with the many other 'keep in
launcher' application bugs, but on Maverick the Unity launcher does not
display a 'keep in launcher' item for Inkscape.

The top left icon is the ubuntu icon in the top left of the screen on
the current netbook remix release. When I first installed netbook remix
on maverick, that icon used to do an 'expose' like effect for all
currently open windows. That same icon now opens the window with a
series of buttons to
